The Coniston team was the first to be established in the Lake District. In 1999 we celebrated 50 years of Search and Rescue work on these fells with a major appeal for funds. Our appeal target was reached in time to build a much-needed extension to our Headquarters at Old Furness Road in Coniston. From these premises we are deployed on a wide variety of emergency tasks, at any hour of the day or night, whenever needed. We value the support of the local community and the many visitors to this area. |
